Faith Of the Believer

Faith Of the Believer

Prayer: Oh Lord God of Host, let the Logos words that I read and the Rhema Word that you have spoken be received in the heart of those in your presence this day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen

FOB: What is a FOB?

Many of us today own an automobile. Often for our convenience, they come with a key fob. The acronym for fob has been defined as a frequently operated button (fob). For our automobile, it is used to unlock/lock the doors of our vehicles or activate/inactivate the security system in our vehicle. Fobs can also be used as a device to gain entry or access to your home via an access control gate or to your garage. There can be as few as 1 or as many as 4 buttons on a fob.

I have three examples of a fob.

· The first has only 1 button on it. We use it to open the gates to the property where we live. You simply point the device at the access control box, push the button on the fob, and the gate or the garage door will open.

The next remote has 2 buttons, this one is used to activate the alarm of my old Suzuki Jeep.

The Final fob has 4 buttons on it. 1 button unlocks the door of our vehicle; 1 button locks the door of the vehicle; 1 button opens and closes the rear door or hatch of the vehicle; and 1 button is the panic button to perhaps frighten away a suspicious character from your vehicle or you, but it is mostly used to help you find where you parked your vehicle in the parking lot when you go shopping.

You may have been delivered, healed, received salvation, and somehow slipped back to your old ways, the Scripture states in Luke 11:24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

Many believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died for our sins. They believe this because they have heard, read, or been taught this. But, when they are in need of something whether it is healing, deliverance, or something they need Jesus to do for them, they receive not because they ask not, or don’t have faith. You can have all the ingredients on the table to make a cake, but until you put those ingredients together and bake them, they are not a cake, only ingredients.

Many people believe or know cancer exists, but few have the faith to know that Jesus can heal cancer.

Let’s get back to FOB. I told you earlier that some fobs have 1 button. This fob reminds me of the story of Jesus raising his friend Lazarus from the dead in John the 11th chapter. You know the story; Jesus was in Jerusalem teaching in the temple when he received word from Martha and Mary that his friend Lazarus whom he loves was sick. But Jesus stayed there 2 days then Jesus tells his disciples, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

In 2 Kings 20thChapter, The Lord had sent the Prophet Isaiah to tell Hezekiah to get his house in order for he was to die. And when Hezekiah received the news, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. Perhaps Hezekiah wanted more time to do some things. He wasn’t quite ready to go. Yes, he was very sick to the point of death. So he prayed earnestly and wept sorely that the Lord God would give him more time. Not only did the Lord God lengthen his life but he healed him of his sickness, for the Word said.

12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. {you see when you are sick, doctors, family, and friends will tell you, “Get some rest or sleep”}13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. When they arrived, Lazarus had laid in the grave for 4 days. You see, Mary and Martha were believers but when life circumstances come, like many of us, their faith is not there. It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.34 And said, where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.35 Jesus wept. This is the 1 button fob. The next example is the 4 button fob. In the Book of Mark, after John the Baptist has been put in Prison, Jesus comes to Galilee to preach the Kingdom of God. He goes into Capernaum into the synagogues teaching and casting out unclean spirits. Even in the churches, folks come in with spirits as such the spirit in the synagogues tells Jesus, “let us alone, what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth, did you come to destroy us?” (1stchapter 23 ) Jesus was healing, being about His Father’s business which was preaching the word. And after Jesus had taught many parables by the seaside, they sent away the multitude and When Jesus told his disciples, Let us pass to the other side. The Scriptures tells us in the 5th chapter verse 35 that there came a tempest or a great storm. The wind blew and the waves beat into the ship and as Jesus lie asleep in the hinder part of the ship, the disciples came and said, “Master carest thou not that we perish. Jesus arise and rebuked the wind and says unto the sea, Peace Be Still. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith. You see the disciples hit the panic button.

My last examples are the 2 button fob. Turn with me to the Book of Mark chapter 5 beginning at verse 21, And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.

22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged (pressed, cramp, squeezed about) him. Come on and read starting at verse 25:

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. Okay, then in verse 30 reads 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? (Keep in mind the disciples know that Jesus is the Messiah but they speak to his as a man)32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult [turmoil/confusion], {remember satan who’s the author of confusion and what does he come to do, kill, steal, and destroy} and them that wept and wailed greatly.39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.40 And they laughed him to scorn. {1stCorinthian 1:27 says’” But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty}But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

This is the last that even the centurion had more faith than his anointed 12. He was secure in his faith that Jesus could just speak the word and his servant would be healed. So I ask you today, “What FOB are you?· Are you one who believes but have no faith· Are you one who walk with Jesus but put limits on what he can do or what He has given you the authority to do· Are you one who is strong in your faith and know that ALL things are possible to those who trust and believe in Jesus the Christ

Jesus has provided the path. He has lighted the path. He has put it in you. The Lord said in Jeremiah 1:4 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. How will you operate your FOB? I don’t know about you, I want to upgrade my FOB, I want that FOB that when I walk near my car it automatically unlock the door, I don’t need to push a button. In other words, as I walk in the presence of God, I’m calling things as they are to be by the authority that Jesus has given me. If you don’t have the upgraded FOB, P.U.S.H. pray until something happens. Just like the fob to the gate entry where we live, my FOB or Faith, is my access into the gates of the New Jerusalem. Remember without Faith, it is impossible to please God.

Father God thank you for the insight you have placed in our spirit. Let us glorify you and not let the enemy rob us of what you have given us. We are your sheep and you are our Shepherd and no one or nothing can take us or anything that you have created out of your hand. Father God, I pray that let nothing separate me from your love and presence. If there be anything that is not of you in my life or anyone who is a believer in you, we command it to be moved in the Precious name of Jesus and it is so. We believe by faith that whatsoever a thing that we shall ask, then that which we ask will be done, not to glorify ourselves but to Glorify the one that you sent, who came to Glorify You, Father God.

God Bless you and keep you, remembering always Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

  1. This is a great teaching! I thought I wanted to be the FOB with 4 buttons until I read where u wanted to be an upgraded FOB. That upgraded FOB promotes a deeper faith and understanding of who and what our God can and will do if we just believe. I really enjoyed this teaching and look forward to more. May God bless the teacher of his word, and I will continually pray our strength in the Lord. And it is so.
