Faith Over Fear

Faith Over Fear

Prayer: Father we come with thanksgiving in our hearts. We are thanking you for allowing us to see another day, a day to marvel at your great creation. We thank you for giving us breath to praise your Holy Name. We thank you that we are clothed in our right mind. Most of all, we are thankful for you being our Savior and that we are the Church of the Most High God. We confess with our mouth that you are Good and Your mercy endureth forever. In Jesus Name. Amen

I was listening to Brother Jentezen Franklin and he was teaching on Faith over Fear. It is so relevant as to the state of the world today. Fear is an emotional state of both saved and unsaved. With this dreadful COVID-19 pandemic, it has invaded the conscience heart, mind, and body of all. People are wondering how it will affect their health, their children, their families, their work, their businesses, their ministries, and their way of life. They see the number of cases growing not declining. The death rate is staggering for such a time as this in our lifetime. It discriminates not because of age, race, or social-economical status. Those in low places and high place; those educated and those who haven’t yet the ability to form a word from their mouth, they have all succumbed to it. Reports of some of the leaders of the nation have been affected and a report that the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un may have even died due to it.

But I come today to say that there is still Hope. We as believers of Christ must keep our faith. For if our faith falters, then the unbeliever has no hope. Jesus tells Simon, But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fails not. It is easy to have fear because it is a natural emotion. Fear is often an unseen emotion that causes a seen effect. Often when fear is present, even though we try to hide it, it manifests itself in the forms of depression, anxiety, weight, and hair loss, ulcers, and mental health. Faith is also unseen. Hebrews 11 states that Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.

I submit to you that even though you may not see faith, but you see the results of faith. Faith causes you to smile when everyone else is crying; it causes you to be self-assured when other is doubtful. It makes you trust when others worry. We declare from our mouths that we are good, for God is good and His mercy endureth forever, while others ask the question, “What am I going to do”?

Fear (COVID-19) is all around us, unseen, but so is Faith also unseen. But we have to step out of fear and walk into Faith. Death, destruction, and fear surround us, but so are life, protection, and Faith. We have been given a promise that no weapon formed against us shall prosper; Jesus promised, I will never leave you nor forsake you; I will be with you, even to the end. Angels are dispatched all around you but you must believe that they are. Jesus is waiting for you to open up your heart and let Him in. He is not a million miles away, just a thought, a prayer away to enter into your heart. The Holy Spirit is waiting to lead and guide you, but neither will enter unless you invite them in because They will not force themselves upon you, you have been given free will.

Now, the choice is yours. A leader once said, “There is nothing to fear but fear itself”. So, why are you fearful when you have or can have a Savior who will cast away all fear and doubt and replace it with hope and salvation? There are many things that keep us separated from God, Like Paul a servant of the Lord declares in Roman 8:38-39: Romans 8:38-39 King James Version (KJV):

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Also in Romans 4:21 King James Version (KJV):

21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Father God look now upon your people as they humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways, hear their prayers as they seek your face, and heal this land. Give them hope, peace, and salvation to those who seek it. In Jesus Name. Amen
