I want you to turn off anything that may be a distraction. I want you to have your mind and thoughts on a few questions that you should ask yourself. Before you answer and proceed to the next question, think about the question asked.
- Do you really know Christ and how do you know Him?
- Who is He to you?
- What is your level of faith in Him?
The Scripture speaks a lot about faith. It says the definition of faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. The Word says that without faith it is impossible to please God. We have heard and read that faith without works is dead. But praise is to God that the Scripture says If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you. In other words, whatever your problem is, with faith your problem can be solved.
That brings me to the subject Child Like Faith that I would like to share with you today. There are some examples in the Scriptures, one would have to have the faith of a child. We as believers are God’s children. We know this because the Word tells us of God’s people, the Children of Israel. Let me say that if you say that you are a Christian, then you have to submit that we all are the descendants of Adam and Eve because God created them and He created them to multiply and fill the earth. Furthermore, God told Abraham that He would make his name great and make him the father of many nations, so we are God’s Children. Genesis 12:2
A child is an innocent being. They are very trusting of what their parents tell them. We as children of our Father must be equally trusting of what God tells us. Abraham had to be trusting (Child Like Faith) of God when he was told that he and Sarah would give birth to a son while they were in their old age. Genesis 17:9 He had to Child Like Faith when God told him to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice. Genesis 22:2 Moses had to have Child Like Faith to go to Pharaoh and tell him to let God’s people go. Exodus 9:1 Elijah had to have Child Like Faith when he was told to go the Brook Cherith and God will send a raven to feed him.1 King 17:3 Peter had to have Child Like Faith when Jesus told him to cast a hook, not a net but a hook and bring up the fish and take the money from its mouth. Matthew 17:27 The man who was blind had to have Child Like Faith when Jesus spit and made clay and placed it on his eyes and tell him to go wash at the pool of Saloam and he would receive his sight. John 9:6-7
These are just a few examples of what Child Like Faith can get you. Who would believe that a boy from rural Georgia could travel this nation and nations around the world had it not been for the Grace and Mercy of God, To serve in the Armed Forces for nearly two decades and retire honorably without ever having to set foot on a battlefield. But most importantly to now be on the battlefield for Christ. Please don’t be mistaken, we are all on a battlefield, spiritual warfare. The enemy is satan and he comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Look around you if you think it is not so. A great nation crippled, pestilence over the land. Great unemployment, great cases of COVID, great numbers of death, great anxiety, great protest, a great number of businesses gone out of business or bankrupt, is this Making America Great Again. Folk not knowing what tomorrow will bring for not just themselves but for their children. Their way of life changed for the unforeseeable future. Everyone lives have been impacted by the events of today. Never in our lifetime would we imagine seeing Americans walking around with masks over their faces like images in another country. Places of worship doors closed or their occupancy limited. God would not do this but we as a people have fallen so far away from God that His hedge of protection is being lifted from around this world. We care more about gun rights than human rights; we condemn the abortion of the unborn but turn our heads to the born that suffers from violence, homelessness, hunger, poverty, and despair. We select what sin is greater or fit our image of what sin is greater, SIN is SIN, and left unrepented all sin is death. The wage of sin is death and death will have its place in Hell and Hell in the lake of fire.
Brothers and sisters no matter what it looks like, there is Hope, Jesus Christ the Hope of Glory. While we still have breath in our bodies, we can repent of our sins. If you don’t know God, you still have time to know Him for yourself. Death does not care what your age, nationality, social status, or religion is when he comes, will you die in the world or rest in Christ. That is the most important question. Lay not your treasure here on earth but in Heaven.
If you don’t know God, all you have to do is confess the forgiveness of your sin, repent, believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God and Jesus died for your sins that you may have eternal life. If you are saved, pray continually for one another, love one another, and keep the Faith.
God Bless You and keep you and beloved, we wish above all things that you prosper even as your souls prosper.
