I was taking my vehicle to get it serviced. The service light illuminated in the instrument cluster. As you open up the hood or bonnet as it is called, the entire engine has a plastic cover over it, hiding the engine itself. Although from a glance, everything looks good and in order, but until you remove the cover and expose what lies beneath, one will never know.
When I think of how our human existence is, it reminds me of an automobile. You see 1 Thessalonians 5:23 King James Version declares: 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly, and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So we are 3 parts, body, soul, and spirit.
We often see people as to what their body represents to us, but does it tell you who they really are. We pass them during our daily lives, on the street, at work, at school, or in worship service. Often times we form opinions as to what this person must be like because we look with the natural eye and not the spiritual eye, heart, or mind
Ponder this for a moment, the body is not who we are, it is the dwelling place of the soul and spirit. The soul must have a body to occupy. Most importantly, the Spirit is the life of both soul and body. We can do all kinds of things to the body, but it is the spirit of mankind that gives them life. The soul however is what determines who you are and where you will spend eternal life.
As born again believers, we have all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. But thank God for grace, mercy, forgiveness, and redemption. So when you see the people who are not living according to your standards, the drug addict, the alcoholic, the homosexual, the fornicator, the adulterer, the liar, don’t be so quick to judge them. Remember they weren’t born that way, somewhere the soul allowed the spirit of these sins to inhabit the body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 it states, 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. Thanks be to God it is written in 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new. So I/we don’t have to worry about our past nor the present, as long as we repent of our sins and believe in our hearts that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead and is seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. You are not the old you in His sight. Your talk is no longer the same (you don’t say the things you use to say); your walk is not the same, (you don’t go to the places you use to go). You now have the mind of Christ.
1 Peter 2:9 says you, But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: 10Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
You are now a member of the body of Christ, a son of God. With the redemption of the Blood of Jesus, you are no longer as John 8:44 declares, Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it. You have an eternal inheritance to the Kingdom of God. We can now rejoice in the fact that we are children of God with everlasting life, thanks be to God for His Son Jesus Christ shed His Blood on the cross for our sins.
Remember, you are not what you appear to be on the outside, but the light, spirit, and soul of you which is on the inside. Clothing, makeup, nor any cosmetic surgery can change that. Jeremiah 1:5 says, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. And Jeremiah 11:29 declares: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 3 John 1:5 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Father bless those who have a desire to become a member of the royal priesthood of the Kingdom, In Jesus Name. Amen
